An activity, plus free text if it's something specific — “barbecue by the lake”. Then the day and a time window.

A place nearby, “at mine”, or left open. And how many can come: a number from 1 to 10, one of your own, or no limit at all.

All your friends, a selection, or one group. And whether joining counts immediately or you approve each one.

What freimo does not do here.
An open meetup is an invitation to friends — not an events platform.
- No public events. Only people you are friends with see your meetup. There is no public calendar, no search, no strangers.
- No ticketing, no payments. freimo counts who is coming but takes no money and manages no tickets. Splitting the bill stays between you.
- No reminder avalanche. There is one notification for the invitation and one reminder before it starts. freimo does not nag anyone who has not replied.
- Not a substitute for talking. Who brings what and who lights the grill is up to your chat. freimo organises the date, not the evening.
Privacy
Who sees your meetup.
When creating it you choose the audience: all friends, a selection, or a group. Anyone outside it never sees the meetup — not even indirectly through the guest list. Who has joined is visible only inside the meetup. If you cancel, it disappears along with the calendar entry for everyone involved.

How is this different from a spontaneous meetup?
An open meetup has a date in the future and lands in the calendar. A spontaneous meetup is happening right now and ends by itself after a few hours.
Can I approve people instead of letting them join instantly?
Yes. When creating it you choose between “Open — first come, first served” and “On request” — then you approve each person individually.
What happens if I have to cancel?
You can cancel the meetup; everyone who joined is notified and the calendar entry disappears for them. You can also edit it while it's running.
Can I set a cover image?
Yes. Without your own image freimo picks one that matches the activity, so the meetup doesn't look empty in the list.
Can participants see each other?
Yes, inside the meetup the round is visible — that's the point: everyone knows who is coming.
