The basics
What is freimo?
An app that shows when you and your friends are free at the same time, and turns that into an actual meetup. It replaces the back and forth of “when can you?” messages.
What does freimo cost?
Nothing. The app is free for iPhone and Android, with no subscription, no ads and no paid features.
Is freimo a social network?
No. There's no feed, no likes, no followers and no reach. You only see people you're friends with, and only what a meetup needs.
Is freimo a dating app?
No. freimo doesn't connect you with strangers. It's about friendships that already exist.
Which devices does freimo run on?
iPhone and Android. There's no web version.
Which languages does freimo support?
German and English. The app follows your device language.
Calendar and availability
Can my friends see what is in my calendar?
No. freimo analyses the calendar on your device and derives only when you're free. All that's shared is “free” or “busy” — never titles, locations or attendees of your events.
Do I even need a calendar?
No. Without a connected calendar you enter your free times yourself. With one it's quicker, because freimo finds the gaps automatically.
Which calendars work?
All of the ones set up on your device — Apple, Google, Outlook and others. freimo uses the system calendar and therefore never needs your credentials.
Can I exclude individual events?
Yes. You decide per event whether it blocks you. A birthday in your calendar doesn't have to cost you the evening.
Can I control who sees how much?
Yes. Per person you distinguish between friend and acquaintance: close friends see your free times, acquaintances see none. On top of that you set the hours outside which you're invisible to everyone.
Meetups and spontaneity
What is the difference between a live meetup and an open meetup?
A live meetup is happening right now: you go live and it ends after a few hours. An open meetup has a date in the future and lands in the calendar.
Do I have to approve who joins my live meetup?
Not for a live meetup — a tap on “I'm in” counts immediately. Instead you control whether the meetup is open. For an open meetup you have the choice: instant or on request.
Can strangers see my location?
No. Only people you're friends with see distances, and only roughly — never your exact position or address. Location is optional and can be switched off at any time.
Does a meetup land in my calendar automatically?
Yes, as soon as it's confirmed — for everyone involved, with a reminder. If it's cancelled, the entry disappears again.
Places and reservations
Does freimo really book a table?
freimo writes a reservation request and tracks the reply — for venues with an email address on file. It isn't instant booking and not a partner network: you send the request, the venue answers, freimo records the outcome.
What if no email contact is on file?
Then freimo offers a phone reservation. One tap dials the number, you speak yourself, and afterwards you record the outcome in the app.
How does freimo find suitable places?
It searches the geographic midpoint between everyone involved, so nobody has to travel the whole way. You can filter by category and radius.
Does freimo get paid by restaurants?
No. There are no partnerships, no commissions and no paid placements.
Data and account
What happens to my data?
It sits on servers in the EU and is never used for advertising or sold. The calendar analysis happens on your device. The details are in the privacy policy.
Can I export my data?
Yes, from your profile. You get your data in a machine-readable format.
How do I delete my account?
In one tap from your profile. There's no retention screen and no waiting period.
Does freimo use ad tracking?
No. There are no advertising SDKs and no tracking across apps or websites.
Can I sign in with Apple?
Yes, Sign in with Apple is supported — as is signing in by email.
