You set how long your meetup runs. A place is optional: a café nearby, “at mine” — or you leave it open.

Anyone nearby who is friends with you sees the meetup. Strangers never do, and even friends see only a rough distance, not your position.

A spontaneous meetup only works if nobody feels put on the spot.
- No strangers. Only people you are friends with can see your meetup. There is no public map where unknown people find you.
- No exact position. Friends see a rough distance and the neighbourhood, never your address or a pin on a map. Location is optional and can be switched off at any time.
- No background tracking. freimo does not follow you around. Your location matters while your meetup is running — after that it does not.
- No push to everyone. A meetup is an invitation, not a notification avalanche. Anyone who cannot make it does not have to decline — they simply do nothing.
Privacy
Who sees you when you are live.
A meetup is visible to your friends only, and only while it runs. What is shared is a rough distance — never coordinates, never an address. You can leave the location out entirely and still go live; then only the activity is shown. When the meetup ends it disappears from your friends' view.

About meeting spontaneously.
Do I have to approve who joins?
No. A tap on “I'm in” counts immediately — that's what keeps spontaneous meetups spontaneous. Instead you control the meetup itself: while it's open friends can join; once you close it, nobody else can.
Can my friends see exactly where I am?
No. They see a rough distance and at most the neighbourhood. Your exact position or address is never shared, and you can leave location out completely.
How long does a meetup run?
As long as you set when creating it. After that it ends automatically. You can end it earlier at any time.
What is the live room?
While your meetup runs there's a shared space for it: everyone who is in can write and share photos. It belongs to the meetup and disappears with it.
Do I need a calendar for this?
No. Spontaneous meetups work without a calendar — they only ask whether you have time right now.
